A food workshop exploring how relics are deeply linked to personal cultural significance and the narratives we tell ourselves. We will be using the sculpting of maize dough into relics as a way of discussing interrelationship of food, memory, archival ethics and identity.
Using cornmeal dough we will create relic replicas of personal importance. During the sculpting we will discuss the relationship of Colombian Huacos (pre Hispanic artifacts from Latin American origin) to Europe, as well as relic’s general relationship to museums.
